The Course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance. "The opposite of love is fear, but what is all encompassing can have no opposite." I am certain that thousands of beings on the face of this planet are indeed being nice to each other. Many are already living the teachings of the master teachers. Jesus the Nazarene taught only love, and so did all the other great teachers.

But love does not sell, at least not the kind of love I'm writing about. It's not sexy. It doesn't make money. But fear does. Fear sells, and it has been the great commodity of power and control that hooks us and keeps us prisoners of our own time and minds.

Our little human minds want to understand, to compartmentalize, to digest as much information as possible, to research, to study, to share knowledge, but we have a hard time allowing for our true knowingness, the knowing that we don't know we have.

Many of us want somebody else to do the work, to tell us what to believe, how to live our lives. We feel that we do not have the time to "be still and know." There are also many of us hoping that a saviour does exist, and that he will come and save us and make everything better. Many long for an organization or religion that they can believe in, something that will take care of their needs.

We want our scientists to come up with a pill or technique to make us all healthy and to clean up the planet and maybe create a smart bomb that will wipe out all those who don't think and live as we do.

But it's too easy to focus on those who are not mindful. There are also many people, just like us, some very loving and wise, ...
